Last two days rain has drop an unremarkable history again in Awka. Around 3.00pm when it was raining in Awka, Anambra State, The rain was an heavy one that chase every body home but student, government works and even student. The rain rained till later in day around 6.00pm. Two missing people, yet to be found

Later news was spread that two people were missing in the city, one motorcyclist and the person he was caring at the back, after all the investigation, I was told that the accident occurred un aware to the cyclist.

That when he was trying to cross a main road, he did not know that the way he wanted to flow was drainage where flood passes. Unfurniately for them, they fell into the drainage that the flood carried them to unknown destination.

After that, I’m an eye witness to this one that happened along Authur Eze Avenue where about four people where fighting because of one motorcycle found in one drained around the street. This was as a result of the same rain that rained on 17th of June 2009.

The owner claimed that he packed his motorcycle outside and enter on place to eat and after eating, he noticed that his motorcycle where know where to be found. When he was asking people around there, they told him that saw the machine when it entered into a drainage, so he decided to look for it and when he in eventual found the motorcycle, the people that carried the motorcycle out claim that he was not the owner and after presenting the particulars of the motorcycle, they know said that he will pay them amount of N10, 000 before they will handle the motorcycle over to him.

Finally, the motorcycle was handed over to the owner after the intervention of some police men around the scene and for the two people that was missing, the state Government was still in search of them. This is a second time this kind of thing is happening in Awka the last one was a final year student in Nnamdi Azikwe University who was later found and IYIAGU River.

The state government Peter Obi is trying his best to see that this accident will not happen again. He has commission several roads and drainage where flood will be passing without disturbing the people living in the state.

The question is what will be done to make sure this accident will not happen again in Awka?

Hmm, it doesn't seem to be a good condition at all. Govt needs to find out the proper drainage
